Advocating for education around the world |
Rotary has teamed up with the Global Partnership for Education and it’s already having an impact in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, and Pakistan. In Kenya, the organization helped implement a plan that included making primary education free, which increased enrollment from 72 percent in 2003 to 88 percent in 2012 and closed the gender gap, achieving nearly equal numbers of boys and girls in school. Rotary takes part in climate summit

RI President Shekhar Mehta joined a Rotary delegation to a United Nations climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland, on 10 November to explore ways Rotary can work on environmental challenges, including by restoring mangroves, a crucial ecosystem that can mitigate the effects of climate change in coastal areas.
